Message from VDOT’s Northern Virginia District Office regarding work this week
All, We just received notification from a construction manager with VDOT’s Northern Virginia District Office:
“[They are] planning to perform a small project to add a few handicap sidewalk ramps along Stoneybrooke Lane in order to bring the area up to current ADA standards and wanted to make the Association aware of this. We plan to have a crew there as early as Thursday, 2/2/17. This work will consist of removing the existing sidewalk and replacing it with an ADA compliant ramp mainly in the area at Stoneybrooke Lane and Blue Slate Drive. The majority of the work should only take one day. After that the new concrete will be covered for three days to keep it warm in the cold weather. A second crew will then come in behind the concrete crew to clean up and install top soil and grass seed where necessary.
The contractor working on this project will be Arthur Construction and, as is our normal practice, they will put door knob notices on the houses in the immediate vicinity of the ramps that they plan to work on. In addition to that, I thought it would help to notify the Association as a whole of the work. Please do not hesitate to call or email me if you have any additional questions or need any more information. Thank you.”
