The Stoneybrooke Citizens Association (SCA) board invites you to our first community meeting of 2025. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, January 23rd at 7 PM, at St. Martin Church, 6744 S. Kings Hwy Alexandria (our neighborhood election location).
In years past the SCA held three meetings annually to bring residents together to discuss topics of interest, voice community concerns, and engage with public officials. Our bylaws were changed during COVID to require only one annual meeting, which has been held the last Saturday of September in combination with the annual picnic. While the frequency of meetings declined during COVID, the Board seeks to return to hosting three regular community meetings per year.
Our purpose for this meeting is to introduce the community to SCA Board members, discuss upcoming events, and solicit input on speakers for future meetings. The SCA Board seeks to bring in public officials to meet with residents such as our Franconia District Supervisor Lusk or leaders from other Fairfax County departments and agencies (Mount Vernon District Police Department, School Board, Fairfax County Park Authority’s Invasive Management Area Program, etc). We seek community input on the types of officials they want to invite to future meetings. Consistent with our Articles of Incorporation, your engagement with this meeting will promote the interests of the residents of Stoneybrooke subdivision in improving our community, promoting the growth and development of the children residing in Stoneybrooke, and facilitating friendliness among community members.
Update: Franconia District Supervisor Lusk is available and plans to attend a portion of this meeting on Thursday 1/23 to provide area updates as well as field Q&A. Look forward to seeing neighbors at this meeting.
