Hello 5K Participants!
Here is the course map for this Saturday’s Candy Cane Lane 5K. The course consists of three 1.3 miles loops starting and ending at the food truck location. Follow the candy cane path and pick up a sweet treat along the way. You can complete the 5K anytime you want, but it would be cool if a group of us could all start at 9am.
Around 10:30am the big jolly guy will make a special visit on his bright red fire truck!
Get your pre-orders in for Anita’s New Mexico Style breakfast burritos! Information is below. I’ve heard that one isn’t enough, but 2 makes you full. Great to stock up the freezer too.
On the morning of Saturday 12/11, Stoneybrooke will hold its second annual Candy Cane Lane Run/Walk 5K. An optional course will be distributed closer to the date with candy canes and sweet treats to mark the path. This is a family friendly event.
Anita’s New Mexico Style Mexican Foods will also be on site from 9-11am selling their delicious breakfast burritos. See menu and pre-order information below. Walk-ups are welcome. Come join your neighbors for a jolly time!
UPDATE: Deadline to sign-up is 12/6. Cost for the race is $5 per person. All participants will receive a commemorative pin.

On Saturday October 30, the SCA is hosting a Halloween themed event at Stoneybrooke Park.
Prior to the event, the SCA will hold a brief meeting to vote on two open positions on the board: Chair and Vice Chair. Please attend the meeting at 3:30pm to cast your vote for the open positions.
Beginning at 4pm, kids entertainer, Crickett, will be performing a Mad Scientist Bubble Show. Kids are encouraged to dress up for the event, but not required. Masks are recommended.
Once the sun has set, we will have two movies shown on the outdoor big screen. The first movie will be kid-friendly, followed by an adult-friendly show. Bring some blankets, chairs, and your popcorn!
This event is made possible by the generous donation from our fabulous former neighbor Andi Bethea! Thank you so much!
Sign up for the event by completing the following form: https://form.jotform.com/212714742377155.
Now that the weather is beginning to cool, we can settle in and prepare for all that fall has to offer. One of the events Stoneybrooke loves is Halloween. This year, Halloween is on a Sunday and trick or treating will be from 5-8pm.
Since Covid is still prevalent, the setup will be similar to last year. Neighbors, who choose to participate, should set up a table outside of their house to distribute treats/tricks. The treats should be spread out to limit the spread of germs (e.g., individual bags, cups, treats spaced out on table). NO COMMUNAL BOWLS.
Also, a variety of treats is always appreciated, but especially for those who have allergies. Kids love candy, but other ideas are playdough, bubbles, or other small trinkets. Check out more ideas here.
Mina’s Tamales will be the food truck on site for the event. Note: the truck is here on Sunday, instead of the usual Saturday. Pre-order is available.
The SCA is also excited to share that we will have several contests again this year. Prizes will be awarded.
- Table Design: Who will have the best table design to distribute candy? I remember a few good ones from last year: “Stoneybucks Candies” and “Is it Halloween or Christmas?”
- Pumpkin Carving: Creepy, funny, friendly, scary? You decide!
- Pet Costume: Kids are cute, but pets in costumes?!?! The BEST!
- House Decorated: Pull out all the tricks or head to Home Depot and dress up your house!
Submit a picture for each submission (ex. 3 pumpkins = 3 pictures) to firstname.lastname@example.org by Nov. 1.
Complete the sign-up form so we can have an estimate of the number of trick or treaters. A map will be created to locate houses who are passing out treats.
Date: Saturday 7/3
Location: Corner of Lamp Post Lane & Stoneybrooke Lane

On a few of the dates, the food trucks will be accompanied by the wonderful music of The Crosstown Sounds. Make an event if it, by bringing chairs and blankets to set up a spot on a nearby lawn.
Hope you can make it out to share some fun nights with this great community!
