The United States Navy Band Sea Chanters chorus is the official chorus of the United States Navy. The Sea Chanters perform music ranging from traditional choral music, including the sea chantey, to Broadway musicals. They are one of the most dynamic vocal ensembles in the country, frequently found at the center of our most important national events, including the 55th Presidential Inauguration Ceremony in 2005.

Hard Swimmin Fish is an ensemble deeply rooted in the traditions of American music. Their down home roots sound pilfers from the best that early American music has to offer including blues, jazz, funk and swing, and churn it all up into a spicy brew that is familiar yet uniquely our own. Patty Reese’s attitude with soulful expression and her powerhouse pipes are influenced by the likes of Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. Her standout vocal style encompasses pop, blues, folk and rock. Whether performing solo acoustic, duo or with a full band, Patty considers herself fortunate to be sharing the stage on any given night with some of the most celebrated talent on the East Coast.

Founded in 1994, Swing Shift was originally the amalgamation of refugees from several DC-area bands, including the Bob Louis Big Band, the Kingsmen, Bifocals, Central Heat, the Redskins Band, and the Post-Nuclear Jazz Society. Since its formation, this rag tag crew has been swinging the Washington, DC metro area and beyond offering up the gold standard of the American Songbook. From the classic Big Band repertoire, through the Swing Era, Vocals, jazz and even party-down rock numbers, Swing Shift make an event the talked about gathering of the year! Swing Shift performs at a wide range of venues including the Corcoran Art Gallery, the Kennedy Center, the Washington Hilton, the Fairfax Elks Lodge, the Loudoun Golf and Country Club, and the Sterling Golf and Swim Club. The band can be seen regularly at Blues Alley, Washington, DC’s premiere jazz club.
