Come visit the wetlands in similar places and patterns 4 different seasons of the year to create a ‘A Year in the Life of Huntley Meadows’ coffee table book to share with family and friends. Chose your media to bring with you; camera, sketchbook, etc. 2 classes offered per season for your choosing.
How would you build your dream house? Children, and adults, can experiment with different building materials (eg Legos) to build pediments, walls, arches, and lintels, and learn something you may not have known about eggs. Make a Federal style home in paper and take home your own piece of decorative plaster. Historic Huntley House tour included.

Have you ever wondered about the unique relationships between plant and animal pairs in the forest or wetlands? Join us for a closer look at these fascinating dependencies. Each walk and discussion will feature a different flora-fauna pair.
Historic Huntley sits high upon a hill overlooking Hybla Valley and Huntley Meadows Park. It’s a dramatic setting made all the more stunning by the setting sun. Join us afterhours for a special tour and see the house in a different light. Light refreshments served afterward. Dress appropriately for the weather.
Explore the wild wetland habitat through stories, games, and nature walks. Become a young wetland ranger! Different topic each class. Accompanying adult does not pay.

The annual meeting of the SCA will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 7:00pm at the Mansion. The plan is to hold elections for new officers at that time. Any decisions on how to proceed with meetings after the May 24 meeting will be up to the next Board. All SCA members are eligible to vote; see membership form attached to the April Sentinel. In order to have elections, a quorum of at least 20 members must be in attendance.
At the meeting, the SCA Board will also be looking for volunteers to take over welcoming new residents as well as organizing community events, including kids’ activities (such as an Easter Egg Hunt at the Mansion, as well as a Christmas party), and the land use representative for the neighborhood.
